Rodeo Time
We are Planning our 102nd Annual Labor Day Weekend Festivities
September 1st - September 3rd, 2012,
We are Seeking Great Sponsors. The Trinidad Round-Up Association (TRA) needs sponsors to help with all events and activities for this fun filled weekend. This is a big achievement for Las Animas County!!! 102 YEARS of Rodeo Activity beginning before, lasting thru and continuing after the War. Our Rodeo is a great tradition in Las Animas County. We have a Three Day Rodeo, BBQ, Two Rodeo Dances with a local band playing for the dances, a Parade and the Las Animas County Fair, featuring the Youth of our Community. The Trinidad Round-Up Association was Voted in as 2004 Rodeo of the Year in the Texas Cowboys Rodeo Association (TCRA). This honor is voted on by the Members of the TCRA. Our Rodeos draw Crowds of 3000 plus people. It also draws contestants from Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Wyoming, Nebraska, Arizona, Montana and Ohio. The TRA was also the recipient of the Las Animas County Hispanic Chamber Civic Award in 2006. The TRA has financially contributed to many youth oriented organizations including: Holy Trinity Academy, Trinidad State Junior College Women’s Softball and Men’s Baseball and Basketball, Grace Christian School, COG Early Learning Center, Area 4-H Clubs, Area Schools, Trinidad High School Band Boosters, Little Britches, Westernairs, LAC Rehabilitation Center, Trinidad Soup Kitchen, Hope Pregnancy Center, Trinidad Cancer Alliance, and a $500 scholarship for our Rodeo Queen. Becoming a Sponsor, advertising in our Rodeo Ad Book or Entering the Parade is a GREAT way to let the public know that you are out there supporting their needs. Any and all donations will be greatly Appreciated.
The 2012 Parade Theme is: America - The Beautiful All Sponsorships/Advertising Donations Collected will be used for Scholarships, Trophies, Bands, Dance Hall, Prizes for Kids Dress Up Contest & The Queen Contest, The Parade, Carnival, Special Events like the Westernairs, the Rodeo Clowns/Barrel Man, Advertising Costs, BBQ, Insurance, Licenses, Security and Added Money for Rodeo Events.
Rodeo Events include: Saddle Bronc Riding, Bare Back Riding, Open Team Roping, Mixed Team Roping, Steer Wrestling, Tie Down Calf Roping, Barrel Racing, Bull Riding and Wild Horse Racing; Kids stick horse race & nickel scramble.
